Case Study: Corona

As a major sponsor of the latest Warren Miller Ski film, Corona beer was looking for a way to tap into the experiential marketing arena. Corona needed to promote their product in a different way. They wanted to showcase their product as a winter alternative, in addition to a popular summer favorite.


Solution
Guests of the film, upon exiting the show, were invited to experience Corona as never before. Nearby bars were transformed into Corona snow villages. Patrons passed through an entry portal of snow and ice and were immediately immersed into the Corona winter brand. The snow village was divided into three different zones, the Limelight Stage, the Board Challenge and the Pro Shop. In the limelight stage, participants put on ski gear and





 



interacted in front of a green screen. The participant’s image was then transferred right into a Warren miller film and made available for download from the web. In the board challenge, eager gamers could compete at Xbox’s latest boarding game while sitting in an actual ski lift chair. At the Pro Shop Corona partnered with Solomon to present the latest and greatest equipment for skiing and snowboarding.

Result
Consumers engaged with the brand and took home a new perspective about the product. The tour has been a large success and Corona continues to expand their scope for the project.
